Please quickly register here.

Date:  Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Location of Informational Meeting:
The informational rally will be in the Art Gallery on the 22nd Floor of the Capitol in Tallahassee.  There are only a couple of elevators that go to the 22nd floor of the Capitol; so, please allow yourself plenty of time to get through security and to the 22nd floor on time for the 10:30 a.m. informational meeting.

Time for Informational Meeting on 22nd Floor: 10:30 A. M. to Noon to receive updates on bills and appropriations that impact Florida's arts, arts education, and culture industries, hear from Secretary of State Browning, and experience performances.

Time to Meet With Your Legislators:  Depending upon when you arrive and stay in Tallahassee, schedule your meetings with your legislators and their staff members in ADVANCE.  Just make sure you do not schedule your meetings during the Informational Rally Meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the 22nd floor.  It's important you attend this informational meeting to receive updates and last-minute advocacy plans.  Access your specific legislators here.

Why You and Others Should Attend:

1.    Demonstrate Support for Arts, Arts Education, & Culture:  State support for arts and culture
resources has been reduced by 95% over the last five years; and now, Florida invests only 5 cents
per Floridian on these resources.   We must come together to demonstrate this creative industry is
vital to our state's economic and qualitative recovery and development.  It's our once-a-year time to
come together from throughout Florida and
step up and share our unified voices in Tallahassee
with legislators and their staff members
.  It's a reminder to them that arts, arts education, and
culture are part of the solution and matter to Floridians and tourists.

2.
Stay Informed On the Status of Legislative Issues that Impact Arts, Arts Education, and
        Culture:
During the informational rally from 10:30 a.m. to noon, on the 22nd floor art gallery of the
Capitol, learn about the status of legislative bills and funding that impact our industry.

3.    Network with your colleagues and friends from throughout Florida and share information.

4.
Participate in other events and meetings during Florida's Heritage Week in Tallahassee, March
        21 through 24.  Here is the week's
schedule of events and meetings.

5.    Meet with your legislators and their staff members to remind them that their support of Florida's
arts, arts education, and culture investments preserve and create jobs, expand tourism, revitalize
down towns and communities, diversify and build local and state economies, strengthen global
commerce, improve student achievement, prevent crime, and enhance our quality of life.  Please
make your legislative appointments in advance for that Wednesday, March 23, afternoon.  Here is

the link to your senators and representatives.  Please make your appointments now.          .
