Update on Governor's Proposed FY 2012-2013 State Budget 12/9/2011:
Governor Rick Scott released his proposed FY 2012-2013 state budget this week.  He does not recommend funding for any of the Divisions of Cultural Affairs' or Historical Resources' grants programs.  Advocates must communicate and build greater understanding and support with their members of the Florida Legislature to help secure funding for these long-established grants programs that assist with the preservation and creation of jobs, expanded tourism,  greater monetary returns to local and state treasuries, building and diversifying the economy, strengthening student achievement, attracting and retaining key businesses, and creating a unique and meaningful quality of life for residents of and visitors to Florida.
