Your actions MAKE A DIFFERENCE to the future of arts, arts education, and culture.



A.  Suggested STATE Advocacy Steps:

1.  Know and use the 2012 Florida Legislative Platform for Arts & Culture -- access your copy to
     the platform here.

2.  Use the 2012 Florida Legislative Platform for Arts & Culture in your communications with your
     members of the Florida Legislature, members of the key Senate and House appropriations
     subcommittees assigned to arts and culture funding issues, and Florida Legislative leadership: 

     a.  Your legislators and those who represent your county -- access Excel files and information here.

     b.  Members of the Florida SENATE Budget Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism, and
          Economic Development Appropriations -- access an Excel file of all members of this committee
          here and details about the committee here.

     c.  Members of the Florida HOUSE Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations
          Subcommittee -- access an Excel file on all members of this committee here and details about
          the committee here.
  
     d.
  Counties of these appropriations' subcommittee members -- access county-by-county list here.

     e.  Florida Legislative Leadership -- access an Excel file here.

     f.   Lists of all qualified 2012-2013 Florida Division of Cultural Affairs' grant applicants that are
          included on ranked lists submitted to the Florida Legislature for funding consideration by the Florida

3.  Implement some or all of the suggested advocacy steps listed on the Fall 2011 Advocacy
     Calendar

4.  Register here to attend Arts & Culture Day in Tallahassee on February 8.  Also, reserve your hotel
     room now.  Quality Inn and Suites have given us a great rate of only $60.73, which includes the tax.

B.  Suggested FEDERAL Advocacy Steps:

1.
  Please communicate with your U.S. Representative now concerning how he or she voted on the National Endowment for the Arts
--  quickly review status of your representative's vote on the Walberg Amendment, and  quickly let him or her hear from you.  Click here and once opened, click the link under request #2 to quickly communicate with your representative.

2.  Federal Arts Education ALERT -- take action now here.

3.  Urge your U.S. House of Representative to co-sponsor bipartisan legislation, H.R. 1190, which would allow artists to take a fair-market value deduction for works given to and retained by nonprofit institutions.  Click here to take quick and easy action.

4.  Sign up for free Arts Action Fund membership here.

5.  Register for National Arts Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. April 16-17, 2012, here.
